Natural Grass

Engineered for Elite Play

We build high-performance natural pitches for professional football, cricket, and multi-sport venues. Every project is engineered from the base up—subgrade, drainage, gravel blanket, rootzone, turf species and agronomy—to deliver top-tier playability in your climate and calendar.

Designs follow international best practice (USGA style rootzone specifications and modern drainage concepts). Surfaces are laser-graded, irrigated, and finished to exacting tolerances for speed, consistency and safety.

Why Our Natural Pitches Perform

True Ball Behaviour

Natural roll, bounce and traction athletes prefer across elite codes.

Engineered Rootzone

Sand-based profile with organic amendment for drainage, shear strength and resilience.

Climate-Fit Species

Cool- or warm-season cultivars designed around your latitude and maintenance window.

Consistent Levels

Laser-graded base and fine finishing delivers uniform surface and pace.

Modern Irrigation

Automated head-to-head coverage, VFD pumping and zoned scheduling.

Lifecycle Value

Efficient renovation cycles and agronomy support ensure dependable service life.

System Build (Rootzone to Subgrade)

  • Natural Turf Sward – selected species/cultivars for climate and use.
  • Sand-Based Rootzone – sports-grade silica sand with organic amendment for CEC/water holding.
  • Gravel Blanket – separation layer providing hydraulic uniformity and stability.
  • Laterals + Collector Drainage – perforated pipes at calculated spacing and depth.
  • Prepared Subgrade – compacted, trimmed formation to design falls.

Designs can incorporate undersoil heating, undersoil cooling, SGL lighting plans and hybrid reinforcement as required.

Cool-Season Turf

Perennial ryegrass / Kentucky bluegrass mixes for temperate zones and shoulder-season performance.

Warm-Season Turf

Bermudagrass and zoysia solutions for hot climates; over-seeding programmes for winter colour and pace.

Hybrid Reinforcement (Optional)

Add stitched fibers to increase shear strength and carrying capacity while retaining natural play.

Maintenance Programme

We develop a tailored agronomy plan to align your calendar, climate and staffing. Core tasks include:

  • Mowing schedule by growth stage and season
  • Irrigation strategy & ET-based scheduling
  • Aeration & decompaction (needle, slit-tine, hollow-core)
  • Topdressing sand specification & frequency
  • Fertility plan (N-P-K + micros) and growth regulation
  • IPM: disease, weed and pest thresholds

Performance & QA

Play Metrics

  • Ball roll & rebound consistency
  • Surface hardness (Clegg) within safe bands
  • Traction/rotational resistance
  • Infiltration rate & moisture profiles

Handover

  • Tolerance checks: grade, levels, evenness
  • Irrigation uniformity tests
  • As-built documentation & O&M manual
  • Staff training & post-handover support

FAQs

How long is the construction programme?
Typical build duration ranges from 8–14 weeks depending on scope, services, weather and access.
Seeded or sodded?
We advise based on programme and climate—establish from seed for deepest rooting, or use washed sod for accelerated handover.
Can we add hybrid reinforcement later?
Yes. Designs allow for future stitching if scheduling or budget requires a staged upgrade path.
What is a rootzone and why is it important?
It’s the engineered soil layer beneath the turf, crucial for drainage, grass health, and surface consistency.
