Water has many important roles within plants, and since the grass on the turf are essentially plants, it’s quite key. If the water content in the tissue of the plants drops below 60%, the turf stands to get seriously weakened and can go dormant. Water is not only essential for proper growth but also necessary for conditioning the turf to handle and recover from stress caused by heavy a sport like football.
The type and quantity of water supply to the field also changes with the weather and climate conditions from one area to another. Temperature, sunlight, wind, humidity, soil type and natural rainfall are some key factors that decide the type of irrigation system that needs to be installed and will work well.
